Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like ceramic material that, when applied over the surface of a tooth, can cover worn tooth enamel, uneven tooth alignment or spacing and chips or cracks. Dental veneers fall into the category of cosmetic dentistry because they create a bright, white smile with beautifully aligned, shapely teeth. Even better, the translucent ceramic quality of today’s veneers provides a more natural look than what’s been available in the past.

Regardless of what causes unattractive teeth, dental veneers may solve most or even all of your cosmetic dental issues, including:

  • Worn enamel: Over time, the thin, hard white substance covering your teeth (enamel) may become worn, dulled, and discolored. Such wear and discoloration may be natural or the result of a genetic predisposition; however, it is often a result of your habits (soft drink, tea, or coffee consumption, smoking, medication use, etc.).
  • Wear and tear: Teeth naturally wear down as people age. Aged teeth are more likely to have chips, cracks or a generally uneven appearance.
  • Genetics: Certain people may be born with abnormal spacing between the teeth that grows wider as they age.
  • Uneven teeth: Uneven teeth can result from tooth grinding or general wear and tear.

We have all noticed people in their 60s, 70s and 80s who look much younger than their years because of their beautiful, healthy smiles.

We have also seen young people who appear to be much older-due to a deteriorated, irregular or drab smile.

We’ve seen patients here at EDS, who are in their 40s through 70s and want to look younger because of a drab smile. Most people don’t know that dentists can actually improve the smile without scalpels.

We can actually broaden the smile and make a person look 10+ years younger. Usually the wider smile supports the face better and that’s how we perform a facelift. It can be done with veneers or other methods, but the best way to find out if you are a candidate for a scalpel-less facelift is to come by our office for a free consultation to assess your smile and give you our recommendations.

VENEERS

We also work with porcelain veneers. The veneers are placed over the front teeth to change the color or shape of the teeth and smile. Some of our patients complain that their teeth are too small or too big, and veneers are a great solution for this problem.
Porcelain dental veneers are really a beautiful way to correct stained, chipped, or crooked teeth. What we do here at EDS is to place these glass-like ceramic porcelain veneers on the surface of teeth. This procedure is permanent

Many dentists now place veneers on their patients, however, this procedure requires skill, precision, and a bit of artistry from a talented cosmetic dentist. We take into account the size, shape and type of veneer to best compliment our patient’s smile, the shape of their face, and other factors.

If you’ve been thinking about a smile makeover and a facelift, veneers might be the answer. There’s only one way to find out… stop by our office.
